Abstract

The international success of the series Game of Thrones —adapted from the George R. R. Martin novels— has inspired José Fonollosa in 2015 for the elaboration of a comic book parody entitled Parodia de Tronos. The author caricatures the characters to serve a humorous and critical purpose by synthesizing them into one or two revealing words. Our analysis is original because, although in the universe of the comic strip the parody goes through the image, it shows that the text alone is able to translate the parodic will, especially through the onomastics sensibly deteriorated by Fonollosa.
